Youth of the United Nations Association (YUNA) is a youth led non-governmental organization that works to promote the work (values and principles) of United Nations (UN) and its further objectives in the country. Activities conducted by the organization focus on bridging the gap and bring young people closer to United Nations-UN in Tanzania. YUNA was founded in 1996 as the youth wing of UNA Tanzania but it was registered as a NGO in 2005 and has maintained the “youth wing” status with UNA Tanzania. YUNA Tanzania is a member-based organization and to-date has succeeded to maintains over thousands members in the country due to UN Chapters (UNC) in universities and colleges and UN Clubs (UNCTN) in secondary school within the country and outgoing school members.

How to join Yuna Tanzania
Membership is open to anyone provided that;
- A student whose age does not exceed 30 years.
- One is a student in a college or university where a UN Chapter Operates from
- One is willing to obey the rules of the UN Chapters as stated in the Chapter’s guide and participates fully in all the activities of the UNChapters.
- To be able to participate in all activities and have all the rights,there has to be registration at a chapter’s level and pay the annual membership payment fee (for as long as one is a student at a respective college/university. All memberships have to be renewed each year within chapter. YUNA-Tanzania shall define the membership renewing process
