Procedures for carrying out Pesticides business in Tanzania<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the Plant Protection Act (1997) and Plant Protection Regulations (1999), all pesticides business require clearance from the<\/p>\n

Office of the Registrar of Pesticides.<\/p>\n

The commercial pesticide dealers include fumigators, Pest controllers, Retailers, Whole sellers, Importers, Formulators and Manufacturers.<\/p>\n

Procedure for Licensing of Pesticide Dealers in Tanzania:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Fill application form (PRC-4 & PRC 9) (Retailers and Whole sellers); PRC 4 & 8 (Fumigators); PRC 4 & 10 (Manufacturers, Repackers and Formulators) and Application for Importers (for Pesticide Importers)<\/li>\n
  2. Submit to the Registrar Business License, Registration certificate for Company, TIN Certificate (Optional) and Technical Staff Academic Certificate.<\/li>\n
  3. Inspection of premises for human safety, Staff competence, location , safety gears, equipment used etc<\/li>\n
  4. Award of Invoice for successful applicant.<\/li>\n
  5. Payment of fees.<\/li>\n
  6. Permit Award.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Fee to be paid by Pesticide Dealers are:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Application forms 10 USD (PRC 4 & 9); $ 40 (PRC 4 & 8).<\/li>\n
    2. Pre-business $50 (only once) for Retailers and Fumigators.<\/li>\n
    3. Annual fee (Renewable) of $ 25 for Retailers\/ Wholesalers; $ 50 for Fumigators and Pest Controllers; $ 100 for Pesticide Manufacturers, Repackers
      and I$ 150 for Importers.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Note:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      After payment of Fees a Permit is Granted (Renewable annually).<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

      Manufacture\/Formulation of Pesticides<\/strong><\/p>\n

      PROCEDURE \u2013 SUBMIT TO THE REGISTRAR THE FOLLOWING<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Dully Fill (Application forms (PRC-10)<\/li>\n
      2. Certified Copy of Academic<\/li>\n
      3. Certificate of the technical staff.<\/li>\n
      4. Factory registration certificate and business license and TIN Certificate (Optional)<\/li>\n
      5. Sample to be manufactured\/ formulated.<\/li>\n
      6. Environmental impact assessment report from the National.<\/li>\n
      7. Environment Management Council<\/li>\n
      8. \u00a0If you are not the Registrant (owner) of the product, submit a duly signed, stamped and sealed letter
        of authorization from the Registrant.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
