Its primary concern is to support South Africans to improve their quality of life. The Foundation\u2019s programmes focus on education at all levels, development and enrichment as well as sustainability and protection of the environment.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"HCI_Foundation_Bursaries\"\/>HCI Foundation Bursaries<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p>HCI Foundation provides partial bursary to qualified students who are studying at public institutions in South Africa. Out of 8000 annual applications received, only 1000 will be awarded. The bursary will cover up to 75% of the student\u2019s tuition fees to a maximum of R 28000. Allowances for living expenses, books, residence, meals and transport are not included. Hence, students are allowed to receive partial funding elsewhere however full bursary from another provider will not be permitted. Payments will be made directly to the educational institution and no payments will be made to the students.<\/p>\n<p>Bursary holders will not be required to repay their bursaries. However, they will be expected to give back through community projects participation such as\u00a0tutoring programmes, mentoring programmes, volunteering at old age homes and daycares.<\/p>\n<h3\/>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"HCI_Foundation_Bursary_Requirements_and_Eligibility\"\/>HCI Foundation Bursary Requirements and Eligibility<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>South African citizens, refugees and asylum seekers<\/li>\n<li>Full time 1st year of students in the succeeding academic year, studying at a public University or University of Technology in South Africa.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 55% average for Matric or end of year results<\/li>\n<li>Gross family income of not more than R25 000 per month<\/li>\n<li>Maximum 35 years old on 30 September 2018<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note that part-time, distance learning or students studying at FET colleges are not eligible to apply.<\/p>\n<h3\/>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Apply_and_Application_Details\"\/>How to Apply and Application Details<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h3>\n<p>The application process usually\u00a0<strong>opens on 1st August<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Register an online profile at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bursary.hcifoundation.co.za\/Home\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/bursary.hcifoundation.co.za\/Home<\/a>\u00a0when application reopened. Follow instructions as stated in the online form and complete important details such as personal details, family details, proposed study for the upcoming year and parents\/guardian employment information.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare to submit certified copies of the following required documents:\n<ul>\n<li>ID<\/li>\n<li>Proof of household income<\/li>\n<li>Affidavit of unemployment, if applicable<\/li>\n<li>Proof of grant, if applicable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Make sure you provide the following:\n<ul>\n<li>Working email address<\/li>\n<li>Working cell phone number<\/li>\n<li>Student number if you are applying for your second year of study or higher<\/li>\n<li>An exact amount of your parents\u2019 or guardians\u2019 monthly income<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Submit academic year-end results before February 23<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Applicants will be updated on the status of their application at each stage of application process through email. Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed by phone.
