{"id":5184,"date":"2022-06-22T03:33:04","date_gmt":"2022-06-22T03:33:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uptymes.com\/edu\/yousef-jameel-gapp-public-leadership-programme-in-egypt-2021\/"},"modified":"2022-06-22T03:33:04","modified_gmt":"2022-06-22T03:33:04","slug":"yousef-jameel-gapp-public-leadership-programme-in-egypt-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uptymes.com\/edu\/yousef-jameel-gapp-public-leadership-programme-in-egypt-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"Yousef Jameel GAPP Public Leadership Programme in Egypt 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The American University of Cairo invites applications for the Yousef Jameel GAPP Public Leadership Programme in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>In May 2011, Yousef Jameel, working with the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP), initiated<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>the Yousef Jameel Public Leadership Program, with the overall objective of building the capacity of young competent Egyptian nationals in the areas of public policy and public administration, and preparing them for leadership roles in Egypt after the January 25\u00a0Revolution.<\/p>\n<p>By supporting 300 fellows in 12 cohorts of 25 Egyptian graduate students per year, the Yousef Jameel public leadership program will have contributed to creating a cadre of well educated, competent graduates ready to take on the responsibility of affecting change in the Egyptian society.<\/p>\n<p>A selected number of exceptional candidates are to receive a complete fellowship to pursue a master\u2019s degree in one of the following eight programs at AUC:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master of Arts in International Human Rights Law<\/li>\n<li>Master of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication<\/li>\n<li>Master of Arts in\u00a0Middle East Studies (MA)<\/li>\n<li>Master of Arts in\u00a0Migration and Refugee Studies with concentrations in migration, and in refugee studies (MA)<\/li>\n<li>Master of Global Affairs (MGA)<\/li>\n<li>\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bMaster of Law in International and Comparative Law (LLM)<\/li>\n<li>Master of Public Administration (MPA)<\/li>\n<li>Master of Public Policy (MPP)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Worth_of_Award\"\/><strong>Worth of Award<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h4>\n<p>The fellowship\u2019s\u00a0covers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tuition fees<\/li>\n<li>\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bStudent services and activities fees<\/li>\n<li>Remedial English courses<\/li>\n<li>\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bBook allowance per semester<\/li>\n<li>Monthly stipend<\/li>\n<li>\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bAccommodation allowance for non-residents of Cairo<\/li>\n<li>Bus transportation fees<\/li>\n<li>\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bStudy abroad opportunity for one semester according to AUC student exchange policies (travel and living expenses)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Eligibility\"\/><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Egyptian nationals<\/li>\n<li>\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bBachelor degree from an accredited university in social sciences (business administration, management, political science, law, and others), engineering (mechanical, electrical, construction, and others) or science (pharmacy, medicine, computer science, chemistry, and others)<\/li>\n<li>Minimum grade point average of 3.2 or a rating of gayed geddan<\/li>\n<li>\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bSatisfy\u00a0AUC graduate admissions requirements, including an international TOEFL IBT or an IELTS exam\u00a0score<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of two and a maximum of 12 years of relevant professional work experience after receiving their bachelor degree, preferably in public, nonprofit or international development organizations;
