SARB was established in the year 1921 after the passing of the \u201cCurrency and Bank Act of 10 August 1920\u201d in Parliament. Before the Bank was established, South African commercial banks issued banknotes to the public.<\/p>\n<p>The SARB are responsible for the following: ensuring that the banking, money and financial system in South Africa achieves the community requirements and keeps up to date with international developments, as well as helping the government (and other economic community members) of South Africa with data for macroeconomic policy, and lastly to provide the South African community and international stakeholders with feedback regarding the countries monetary policy and economic standing.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"ABOUT_THE_BURSARY_PROGRAMME_%E2%80%93_FIELDS_COVERED_COVERAGE_VALUE_SERVICE_CONTRACT\"\/>ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME \u2013 FIELDS COVERED, COVERAGE VALUE &amp; SERVICE CONTRACT<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h3>\n<p>Bursaries will be awarded within Commerce related fields of study, particularly the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accounting<\/li>\n<li>Economics<\/li>\n<li>Business Science<\/li>\n<li>Actuarial Science<\/li>\n<li>Law<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The bursary will cover study related expenses up to a maximum of R95 000 per annum.<br \/>Students will be able to take part in vacation work (based on availability within the company).<\/p>\n<p>On completion of their qualification, students will be required to work at SARB within the Graduate Development Program, for the period of time equal to their bursary awarded.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"ELIGIBILITY_REQUIREMENTS\"\/>ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h3>\n<p>Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>South African citizen<\/li>\n<li>Completed Matric OR currently in Matric<\/li>\n<li>Intend on studying full-time within one of the aforementioned fields of study<\/li>\n<li>Intend on studying at a recognised tertiary institute in South Africa<\/li>\n<li>Achieved a minimum overall average of 65% for your current year of study<\/li>\n<li>Accounting degree students: must have achieved a minimum of level 6 for Mathematics in Matric<\/li>\n<li>Proven financial need<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"HOW_TO_APPLY_FOR_THE_BURSARY\"\/>HOW TO APPLY FOR THE BURSARY<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h3>\n<p>You may apply in one of the following ways:<br \/>1) Online at:\u00a0<strong>http:\/\/cw.gradx.net\/<\/strong><br \/>(You will need to register an account and then login to complete your application.
