The university has a number of hostels at MC and SMC that cater for undergraduate and postgraduate accommodation needs. Currently, the university facilities have a carrying capacity of\u00a03,728<\/strong>\u00a0students. These facilities are managed by\u00a0Sokoine University of Agriculture\u00a0Housing and Accommodation Bureau (SUAHAB).<\/p>\n

Accommodation services are coordinated by the\u00a0Sokoine University of Agriculture\u00a0Housing and Accommodation Bureau (SUAHAB).<\/p>\n

CAPACITY<\/h2>\n

SUAHAB has accommodation space of 3626\u00a0undergraduate students and 102 postgraduate students which make a total capacity of 3728\u00a0students as shown below:-<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Since the accommodation facilities are not adequate, SUAHAB has devised a prioritization system for allocating room to students. Hence students may be offered accommodation in the University residence in order of the priority as following:-<\/p>\n

PRIORITY ORDER OF ALLOCATION OF ROOMS<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Students with physical disability\/health challenges<\/li>\n
  2. International Students<\/li>\n
  3. First year students<\/li>\n
  4. Female students<\/li>\n
  5. Finalist students (males)<\/li>\n
  6. Continuing students (males)\n

    NB: Kihonda Hostels are free for any interested undergraduate students regardless of above priority order.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    RATES OF ACCOMMODATION PAYMENTS<\/h3>\n

    (a) Postgraduate Programmes<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Rooms are not shared. Accommodation fee is\u00a0TShs. 912,500.00<\/strong>\u00a0per student per year plus depreciation fee (non refundable) of\u00a0TShs. 20,000.00.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The total payment is\u00a0TShs. 932,500.00<\/strong>\u00a0for local students and\u00a0USD 1,200<\/strong>\u00a0for international students.All payment should be made in one installment and in advance.<\/p>\n

    (b) Undergraduate and non-degree programmes<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Rooms are shared by two to six students<\/p>\n
