{"id":13318,"date":"2022-06-26T21:13:51","date_gmt":"2022-06-26T21:13:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uptymes.com\/edu\/daad-scholarships-for-international-msc-in-tropical-hydrogeology-in-2020\/"},"modified":"2022-06-26T21:13:51","modified_gmt":"2022-06-26T21:13:51","slug":"daad-scholarships-for-international-msc-in-tropical-hydrogeology-in-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uptymes.com\/edu\/daad-scholarships-for-international-msc-in-tropical-hydrogeology-in-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"DAAD Scholarships for International Msc in Tropical Hydrogeology in 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The <strong>German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)<\/strong> is offering scholarships for the International Master\u2019s Program: Tropical Hydrogeology and Environmental Engineering \u2013 TropHEE at TU Darmstadt in Germany 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The Darmstadt Master of Science Course \u201c<strong>Trop<\/strong>ical\u00a0<strong>H<\/strong>ydrogeology and <strong>E<\/strong>nvironmental\u00a0<strong>E<\/strong>ngineering\u201d (TropHEE) aims at combining a comprehensive understanding of geoscientific fundamentals with a specific focus on issues of application that are essential in hydrogeology and environmental management. In particular, TropHEE concentrates on methods and modern techniques enabling the participants to find ways for a sustainable development of tropical and subtropical countries from a geoscientific point of view. Although in the broader framework of international development cooperation, TropHEE offers a comprehensive, research-oriented education in Hydrogeology and Environmental Geosciences and Engineering on Master level.<\/p>\n<p>TropHEE started in 2006 under the name \u201c<strong>Trop<\/strong>ical\u00a0<strong>H<\/strong>ydrogeology,\u00a0<strong>E<\/strong>ngineering Geology and\u00a0<strong>E<\/strong>nvironmental Management\u201d, after finishing the accreditation process in 2005. With its re-accreditation in 2012, the profile of the course profile is stronger than before focused on water and environmental technology issues, while strictly engineering-geology-focused issues have been omitted from the syllabus.<\/p>\n<p>The students of TropHEE obtain a broad assortment of fundamental knowledge and an excellent theoretical and applied knowledge in the fields of hydrogeology, water management and land use planning with emphasis on geoscientific recommendations. Their scientific competence will be complemented by their competence of methods as well as their understanding of systems.<\/p>\n<p>English has been chosen as the course language to allow participants from all over the world to attend the classes without wasting time for language familiarisation.<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Worth_of_Award\"\/><strong>Worth of Award<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h4>\n<p>DAAD scholarships are fully funded<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Eligibility\"\/><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h4>\n<p>The number of scholarships from DAAD is limited, however, and competition is high. Please check carefully if you fulfill the DAAD requirements. These include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>you have a B.Sc. certificate above average;<\/li>\n<li>you do not hold a master title so far;<\/li>\n<li>you can prove at least 2 years of practical experience outside the university, primarily in the field of water; and<\/li>\n<li>you intend to go back to your home country where you preferably already have a guaranteed job position.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Apply\"\/><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h4>\n<p>Please note that your application should be addressed to the TropHEE office:<\/p>\n<p>Technische Universitaet Darmstadt<br \/>Applied Geosciences \u2013 TropHEE Office<br \/>Schnittspahnstr. 9<br \/>64287 Darmstadt<br \/>Germany<\/p>\n<p>The final decision on the allocation of scholarships is made by the DAAD.
