{"id":1322,"date":"2022-06-22T15:22:34","date_gmt":"2022-06-22T15:22:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uptymes.com\/edu\/phd-scholarship-within-the-partoma-research-project-2020\/"},"modified":"2022-06-22T15:22:34","modified_gmt":"2022-06-22T15:22:34","slug":"phd-scholarship-within-the-partoma-research-project-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uptymes.com\/edu\/phd-scholarship-within-the-partoma-research-project-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"PhD scholarship within the &#8216;PartoMa Research Project&#8217; 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>PhD scholarship within the \u2018PartoMa Research Project\u2019 in the Department of Public Health, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Public Health at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen invites applications for one (I) three-year PhD scholarship within the research project \u201cPartoMa Project: Enabling Best Possible Childbirth Care in Tanzania\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The research project is funded by the Danida Fellowship Centre, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.The successful candidate will be on-board by June 1st, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Read more about-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the project\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 at: publichealth.ku.dk\/partoma\/<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skills Qualification and Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicant must have a relevant master\u2019s degree, e.g. social psychology, sociology, anthropology, human geography, global public health or similar<\/li>\n<li>Applicant should\u00a0\u00a0 have\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 strong qualifications and experience of working with qualitative methods and ethnographic approaches<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicant should be fluent in English and Swahili<\/li>\n<li>Applicant must possess\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 strong written\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 and oral communication skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicant should have practical experience of working within the field of public health<\/li>\n<li>Applicant should live in Dar es Salaam, or be willing to move to Dar es Salaam for the three-year duration of the project.<\/li>\n<li>Applicant should\u00a0\u00a0 have\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 experience of\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 conducting qualitative research in a hospital setting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicant should have knowledge of reproductive health and intrapartum care challenges in Tanzania<\/li>\n<li>Applicant should\u00a0\u00a0 have\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 experience of\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 publishing peer-reviewed academic papers In addition to completing the PhD research project, under supervision, the candidate will as part of the PhD programme at the University of Copenhagen be expected to:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete PhD courses or other equivalent education corresponding to approx. 30 ECTS points<\/li>\n<li>Participate in active research environments including a stay in another research environment<\/li>\n<li>Obtain experience with teaching or other types of dissemination related to your PhD project<\/li>\n<li>Write an article-based PhD thesis (3-4 peer-reviewed publications) based on your project<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate their interest in the project, as well as their ability to work independently, take initiative and be a team player.<\/li>\n<li>Possess strong analytical skills, outstanding organizational skills and a drive to be part of a research project and public health innovation efforts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The candidate must be willing to travel to Copenhagen, Denmark, as part of the PhD programme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The position is only open for Tanzanian citizens Appointment conditions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The position is a full-time 3-year position and the student will be based at Aga Khan University Campus in Dar es Salaam. The PhD study must be completed in accordance with The Ministerial Order on the PhD programme (Denmark, 2013) and the Danish Faculty\u2019s rules on achieving the degree.
