{"id":12735,"date":"2022-06-18T16:44:34","date_gmt":"2022-06-18T16:44:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uptymes.com\/edu\/erasmus-mundus-scholarships-for-the-emerald-masters-in-europe-2020\/"},"modified":"2022-06-18T16:44:34","modified_gmt":"2022-06-18T16:44:34","slug":"erasmus-mundus-scholarships-for-the-emerald-masters-in-europe-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uptymes.com\/edu\/erasmus-mundus-scholarships-for-the-emerald-masters-in-europe-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Erasmus Mundus Scholarships for the EMerald Masters in Europe 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The European, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) of the European Union for UK, EU and International Students are offering fully funded Erasmus Mundus scholarships for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Resources Engineering(EMerald) in 2020<\/p>\n<p>EMerald is a two-year Master\u2019s programme (120 ECTS) organised by four European Universities \u2013 University of Li\u00e8ge (ULi\u00e8ge), University of Lorraine (UL), Lule\u00e5 University of Technology (LTU) and Technische Universit\u00e4t Bergakademie Freiberg (TUBAF). The programme is designed to focus on the following major aspects of\u00a0<b>Resources Engineering, Characterisation, Processing, Modelling and Management<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>The programme is organised into four semesters (30 ECTS per semester). The first semester is in Li\u00e8ge, the second semester in Nancy, the third semester in Lule\u00e5 or TUBAF and the fourth semester is in one of the four partner Universities.<\/p>\n<p>The EMerald Master Programme has been designed to\u00a0<b>find the right balance between knowledge of resources<\/b>\u00a0(geology, landfills, urban mines, reserve characterisation and modelling)\u00a0<b>and process engineering techniques<\/b>\u00a0(comminution, sorting, preconcentration, extractive metallurgy and waste disposal).<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Worth_of_Award\"\/><strong>Worth of Award<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h4>\n<p>This scholarship includes three different contributions, as detailed below:<\/p>\n<p><b><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Contribution to the participation costs<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The contribution to the participation costs includes the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Registration fees.<\/li>\n<li>Management fees (including laboratory expenses, supervision and running costs etc.).<\/li>\n<li>Health and accident insurance coverage.<\/li>\n<li>Access to the universities\u2019 infrastructure (libraries, WIFI, etc.).<\/li>\n<li>Assistance from the international office at each University regarding administrative matters, accommodation, bank account, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Contribution to the participation costs EUR 4,500 per year per programme country scholarship holder.<\/p>\n<p>EUR 9,000 per year per Partner Country scholarship holder.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribution to travel and installation costs of EUR 1,000 per year per scholarship holder resident of a Programme Country for travel costs EUR 2,000 per year for travel costs + EUR 1,000 for installation costs for scholarship holders resident of a Partner Country which is situated less than 4,000 km from the coordinating institution<\/li>\n<li>EUR 3,000 per year for travel costs + EUR 1,000 for installation costs for scholarship holders resident in a Partner Country which is situated 4,000 km or more from the coordinating institution.<strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Contribution to subsistence costs<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>There is a contribution to subsistence costs (for both Programme and Partner Country scholarship holders) of EUR 1,000 per month for the entire duration of the EMJMD study programme (24 months maximum).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Eligibility\"\/><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h4>\n<div class=\"field-item even\">\n<div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_inner vc_row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-12 vc_col-lg-offset-3 vc_col-lg-6\">\n<div class=\"vc_column-inner\">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element paragraph\">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<ul>\n<li>Candidates must have a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Engineering with basic knowledge in Geology (minimum 3 years of study or 180 ECTS credits) or a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Minerals Engineering, Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Geological Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or a Master\u2019s degree in Geology.<\/li>\n<li>The EMerald Master Programme provides an engineering diploma, therefore at least 22.5 ECTS in university-level mathematics is required for application eligibility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_inner vc_row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-12 vc_col-lg-offset-3 vc_col-lg-6\">\n<div class=\"vc_column-inner\">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<p class=\"vc_custom_heading vc_custom_1573201691826\"><strong>Mandatory documents<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element paragraph\">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<p>Find below the main documents that will need to be provided for your EMerald Master Programme application:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A copy of your passport AND a sworn translation into English of your birth certificate*. Only selected students will have to provide us with a French translation of their birth certificate (this is compulsory to register at a French University)<\/li>\n<li>A photo (ID format)<\/li>\n<li>Your up-to-date resume in English (maximum 1 page)<\/li>\n<li>A personal motivation letter in English<\/li>\n<li>A copy of your High School Diploma and a sworn translation into English or French*<\/li>\n<li>A copy of your higher education studies diploma and transcript of records with a sworn translation into English or French*<\/li>\n<li>An English Proficiency test\/document for non-English speakers (TOEFL min.87, IELTS min. 6.5 or any other document stating your English proficiency (B2-C1 min.)<\/li>\n<li>Official documents highlighting your accomplishments over the last five years (studies, internships, employment)<\/li>\n<li>A recommendation letter<\/li>\n<li>An official document issued within 12 months of the submission deadline (12th April 2019) showing your place of residence. This could be a residence certificate issued in accordance with your municipality, normal registration rules or a certificate from your place of work, study or training issued by the employer or institution in question<\/li>\n<li>All copies must be certified. Simple translations can be accepted, but once in Belgium you will have to provide the original documents. Therefore it is useful to upload certified copies.*<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>*If your documents are originally in English, then you are not required to provide a translation.<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Apply\"\/><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h4>\n<p>All applicants need to fill out an online application form (required mandatory documents are listed below). Please note \u2013 incomplete application forms are no longer taken into account.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"apply-bull paragraph\">\n<li>You need to be registered on the website. Choose a username and a password and create your account. A confirmation email will automatically be sent to you with further instructions.<\/li>\n<li>Submit your application before the stated deadline.<\/li>\n<li>In February, all applicants that successfully submitted their online application form and met the stated entry requirements will be contacted to take an online-test that assesses their knowledge and skills in the areas of math, chemistry, physics, and geology.<\/li>\n<li>Application files will then be assessed and rated by each partner-professor (see below for selection criteria).<\/li>\n<li>Around March, the best rated applicants (around 30) will be contacted for a skype interview<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All ratings are compared for the purpose of drawing up a list of candidates for scholarship placements (all applicants will be informed of the results by email). High ranking eligible candidates that have not been selected for a scholarship will be able to apply as a self-funded student.
