One of the major responsibility of AGSA is to audit and report on how the government spends the South African taxpayers\u2019 money. AGSA provides audit reports on all government departments, public entities, municipalities and public institutions every year. In addition to this, reports on discretionary audits, performance audit, and other special audits are also presented.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"AGSA_Bursaries\"\/>AGSA Bursaries<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p>AGSA bursary scheme provides financial support for all South African citizens regardless of race, color or creed, who wish to study Chartered Accountancy degrees. The bursary covers tuition fees, hostel\/university accommodation fees with meals or a living allowance and book allowance. Upon completion of studies, bursary holders will be required to\u00a0serve articles with AGSA for at least 3 years.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"AGSA_Bursary_Requirements_and_Eligibility\"\/>AGSA Bursary Requirements and Eligibility<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h3>\n<p><strong>General Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full-time students who wish to pursue studies in Chartered Accountancy fields such as BCom Accounting CA stream, Bachelor of Accounting CA stream and BCompt at a SAICA accredited university<\/li>\n<li>Only South African citizens<\/li>\n<li>Skills required includes:\n<ul>\n<li>Strong English communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Good interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Initiative, determination and dedication to succeed<\/li>\n<li>Strong leadership ability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>For Grade 12 students:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Matric exemption and university acceptance<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 60% in English and Mathematics (not Maths literacy)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>For 2nd year students:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum 60% in Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>For 3rd and Final year students:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum 60% in Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 60% in all subjects specifically Auditing and Taxation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Apply_and_Application_Details\"\/>How to Apply and Application Details<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Application for the 2019 academic year will\u00a0<strong>reopen on August 1 2018<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Once the application opens, register your profile on their website at\u00a0<a href=\"#\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\"><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Submit certified copies of the documents as stated in the application in pdf format with 2mb maximum file size.
