THE COMPANY \u2013 SANSA<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h3>\n<p>The South African National Space Agency (SANSA), established in 2010, are a public entity and government agency operating under the National Department of Science and Technology (DST).<\/p>\n<p>SANSA are responsible developing and promoting aeronautics and aerospace space research, with the companies main focus on utilising data acquired from remote sensing via satellites and other projects to provide assessment about fires, flooding, environmental phenomena and resource management both within the country and throughout Africa.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"ABOUT_THE_BURSARY_PROGRAMME_%E2%80%93_FIELDS_COVERED\"\/>ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME \u2013 FIELDS COVERED<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h3>\n<p>SANSA are offering bursary awards to students who are passionate and that want to excel in their chosen field of study.<\/p>\n<p>Bursaries will be awarded to Postgraduate students in the following fields of study:<br \/><strong>Earth Observation (Hons\/ PhD\/ MSc):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Systems Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Software Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Data Science<\/li>\n<li>Earth Systems Science with Remote Sensing<\/li>\n<li>Remote Sensing<\/li>\n<li>Geospatial Programing<\/li>\n<li>Environment and Health including Climate Change<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Space Science (Hons\/ PhD\/ MSc\/ MPhil):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Geomagnetically induced currents in power systems<\/li>\n<li>Ionospheric and radio propagation modeling<\/li>\n<li>Multi-scale ionospheric physics, structure and dynamics<\/li>\n<li>Multi-instrument studies of space weather<\/li>\n<li>Antarctic radar studies of climate change<\/li>\n<li>Theory of waves and solitons in plasma<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Engineering (Hons\/ PhD\/ MSc\/ MTech\/ MEng\/ BTech\/ DTech):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aerospace Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Aeronautical Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Electrical Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Electronic Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Mechatronic Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Mechanical Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Software Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Software Systems Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Systems Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Space Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Antenna and Radio Frequency Systems Engineering<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>All divisions (Hons\/ PhD\/ MSc):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Computer Science and Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Information Systems<\/li>\n<li>Field related to key SANSA objectives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"MORE_ABOUT_THE_BURSARY_PROGRAMME_%E2%80%93_COVERAGE_VALUE\"\/>MORE ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME \u2013 COVERAGE VALUE<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h3>\n<p>Bursaries will be awarded to the value of the following amounts:<br \/>Honours students: R 60 000<br \/>Masters students: R 98 000<br \/>Doctoral students: R120 000<br \/><em>(please note that these amounts are subject to change)<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"ELIGIBILITY_REQUIREMENTS\"\/>ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h3>\n<p>Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>South African citizen<\/li>\n<li>Achieved a minimum average of 65% from previous degree qualification<\/li>\n<li>Intend on enrolling to study a Honours, Masters and DTech\/ PhD qualification<\/li>\n<li>Satisfy the minimum entry criteria for acceptance into one of the aforementioned fields of study at a recognised South African University<\/li>\n<li>Identify the research area of their interest (projects will be assigned to students)<\/li>\n<li>*Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged
