This section provides information on current funding opportunities at King\u2019s and general advice on other sources of funding that may help finance your postgraduate study.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the scheme is to assist students, from developing Commonwealth countries, of excellent academic calibre who, for financial reasons, are unable to study in Britain and are outside the scope of other British Government Support Schemes but would benefit from higher education in the United Kingdom, enabling them to contribute toward the development of their home countries.<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Worth_of_Award\"\/><strong>Worth of Award<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Approved airfare from your home country to the UK and return at the end of your award (the CSC will not reimburse the cost of fares for dependents, nor the cost of journeys made before your award is confirmed) \u2013 arranged by the university; funded by the CSC<\/li>\n<li>Approved tuition fees \u2013 funded by the CSC<\/li>\n<li>Stipend (living allowance) at the rate of \u00a31,110 per month, or \u00a31,362 per month for those studying at universities in the London metropolitan area (rates quoted at 2019-2020 levels) \u2013 paid and funded by the university<\/li>\n<li>Warm clothing allowance, where applicable \u2013 paid and funded by the university<\/li>\n<li>Thesis grant towards the cost of preparing a thesis or dissertation, where applicable \u2013 claimed from and paid by the university; funded by the CSC<\/li>\n<li>Study travel grant towards the costs of study-related travel within the UK or overseas \u2013 claimed from and paid by the university; funded by the CSC<\/li>\n<li>Excess baggage allowance, up to an annual approved limit, when returning home \u2013 claimed from and paid by the university; funded by the CSC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Eligibility\"\/><b>Eligibility<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h4>\n<p><b>To apply for these scholarships, you must:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an\u00a0eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person<\/li>\n<li>Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country<\/li>\n<li>Be available to start your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September\/October 2020By September 2020, hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) standard, or a second class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master\u2019s degree).<\/li>\n<li>The CSC typically does not fund a second UK Master\u2019s degree.
