University of Witwatersrand (Wits) Graduation Ceremonies:
In light of the special circumstances arising from the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated restrictions imposed on gatherings of people, we would like to share some pertinent information with you.
Due to the late start of the 2021 academic year, the usual March graduation ceremonies have been moved to July 2021, and graduands who qualified in either December 2020 or January/February 2021 will be advised of their specific Faculty graduation ceremonies in due course. We are hopeful that these ceremonies will take place in person and we will confirm specific dates and times soon. If in-person ceremonies cannot be held due to lockdown regulations, the degrees, diplomas, and certificates will be conferred in absentia with the possibility of stage crossing ceremonies later in the year. Please direct any queries pertaining to your graduation to your respective Faculty Office. Kindly note that a degree certificate can only be issued after the conferral of your degree.
