What Documents Are Needed To Apply For Nsfas

Applying for financial aid can be a complex process, especially when it comes to gathering all the necessary documents. This outline will provide a comprehensive list of the documents needed to apply for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) in South Africa.

  1. South African Identity Document (or a birth certificate for under-aged applicants).
  2. Parents’ or guardian’s proof of income: This could be salary slips, pension slips, or affidavits if they are unemployed.
  3. Death certificate/s if one or both of the applicant’s parents are deceased.
  4. Proof of residence.
  5. Consent form, which you can download and fill out from the NSFAS website.
  6. Applicants with disabilities will need a completed Disability Annexure A form (which can be downloaded from the NSFAS website).
  7. Students who are orphaned can provide a Social Worker’s letter confirming their orphaned status.

Bank Statements
