Application Requirements
Bachelor of Medicine and surgery
The University of Gitwe admits all students without any discrimination of race, nationality, region or religion. At UG, we welcome all of you who obtained an Advanced General Certificate of Secondary Education with at least two principal passes permitting him/her an entry to the higher education or equivalent.
In short, the candidate should fulfill the following requirements:
The candidate should have followed PCB, MCB, or BCG in Secondary School
Biology being the main core –lesson, a student filling the 1st principal must have obtained a passing score in this lesson.
The candidate must have obtained an aggregate of at least 40 marks.
He/she must have an aggregate of 24 marks in both biology and any other subject in total.
Bachelor of General Nursing
To be admitted in this program, a candidate must:
Have completed high school with a principal pass in biology and in any other science-based course either physics, chemistry or mathematics with at least a total aggregate not less than 18, or its equivalent according to the Rwanda education board (REB) policy. Or
Have majored in a science-based discipline with biology as the main subject of the course with a proven professional experience not less than 2 years.
Bachelor of Biomedical science
The normal basic requirements for entrance into the Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) is the Advanced Certificate awarded by the Rwanda National Examination Council (RNEC) or its equivalent with principal passes in any two subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics; Advanced certificate (A2) in medical laboratory or its equivalent from any recognized institution.
Bachelor of Computer Science Engineering
To be admitted, prospective candidates must have obtained principal passes in the following subjects: Mathematics and Physics or Mathematics and Computer Science with or without the following combinations:
