Moving between the BA degree and the BJourn degree is flexible if the student secures entry into the following year of study. Only students registered at Rhodes University who have completed the BA majoring in Journalism & Media Studies can proceed to the BJourn qualification.
Bachelors of Arts
A three-year Bachelor of Arts degree with one of the two major subjects selected being Journalism and Media Studies (JMS). Students require 10 courses over the three years to complete a BA degree: three courses in Journalism and Media Studies, three in another selected major and four minor subjects.
During the degree JMS 1, 2 and 3 will be completed. The other selected major can be selected from other Humanities credits. (For example, common majors include English, Drama, Political Studies, History and Economics.)
