The International Medical and Technological University (IMTU) is a private university established in 1995 by the Vignan Educational Foundation (VEF) to promote the spirit of South-South cooperation. The VEF of Bangalore moved with establishing the university in Tanzania at the behest of the Late Mwalimu Julius K Nyerere, the First President of the country.

DIRECT ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:
a. Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) of the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA), or its equivalent certified by NECTA, with at least two Principal level passes in Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Mathematics, and a minimum score of 4.5 points. Applicants must also have “O” level certificate with at least three credits (TCU criteria).
b. 10+ 2 ICIE – Intermediate Course of India Examination with passes in Chemistry, Biology and Physics. Applicants must also have “O” level certificates with at least 3 credits (TCU criteria). The certificates must be verified by NECTA.
c. 7+5 Certificate of Secondary Education Examination from Botswana with passes in Chemistry, Biology and Physics (Physical Sciences). Applicants must also have “O” level certificates with at least 3 credits (TCU criteria). The certificates must be verified by NECTA.
d. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) with lower second class majoring in Biology or Zoology from any University recognized by TCU.
EQUIVALENT ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants with Equivalent Scheme qualifications should also apply through the NECTA and TCU Central Admission System.
a. “O” Level (Certificate of Secondary Education Examination) of the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) with at least four passes including Physics, Chemistry and Biology PLUS Ordinary Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Clinical Medicine (NTA Level 6)with an average of “B” grade. The applicant must have a minimum of two years of working experience in Health Care facility with a work performance of “B” grade or above and approved by NECTA
