- As from 2016, students from SADC countries will pay the same fees as Mauritian students

Students are hereby notified of the new deadlines for payment as follows
- Deadlines for Undergraduate (Full Time and Part Time) Students to effect payment of fees without penalty (1 Instalment per academic year)

A penalty of 10% of all fees payable shall be applicable to all payments effected within 15 days of deadline, after which no payment shall be accepted and students not having paid by that deadline shall be deemed as automatically de-registered and will not be allowed to sit for the forthcoming exams.
This will be implemented as from August 2019 intake.

| Penalty fees | Late payment by students:
a penalty fee of 10% will be applied for payment effected after the deadline. payment of either administration fee or tuition fee or penalty fee will not be entertained beyond two (2) weeks after the deadline and the students will not be allowed to: (i) sit for those exams; or (ii) carry out the activity related to the payment not made |

| Fees for MPhil/PhD Research Degree | Fees applicable to MPhil /PhD students: Rs 75,000 per year.
Note: Students will be automatically deregistered in case the maximum duration has lapsed. |
| Laboratory / Practical Fee | Rs 4,000 payable per semester by all undergraduate students having practical components, subject to the total fee payable to the University not exceeding Rs 10,000 for an academic year. |
| Resit Fee | Rs 800/- per module
Students who fail to pass in 3 attempts will be allowed to resit the module during the permissible course duration as per programme document / UTM’s Regulations. Amount payable: Administrative fee: Rs 3,500/- for every year beyond which the resit has not yet been cleared |
| Appeal Fee | Rs 3,000/- per module
(Refundable, if Appeal is successful) (Note: Appeal on academic grounds against coursework marks/grades, except for modules assessed |
| Replacement of lost bus pass | Rs 300/- (NTA Regulation) |
| Loss of Student ID card | Rs 100/- |
| Re-issue of Certificate | Rs 300/- |
* Other fees applicable are communicated to students as and when the related activity occurs; e.g fee for gowns, etc.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Need-Based Scholarships
(20) Need-Based Scholarships are awarded annually to full-time Mauritian students who come from low income families. Renewal of Need-Based Scholarships may be effected upon satisfaction of the established criteria.
Merit-Based Scholarships
(8) Merit-Based Scholarships are awarded annually to the best-performing undergraduate student on Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 in SITE, SBMF and SSDT respectively and to the best performing postgraduate student on Level M in SITE, SBMF,SHS and SSDT.
