Grenoble Alpes University in France, the University of Barcelonia in Spain and Naples University in Italy offer the Erasmus Mundi Be In Precision in Medicine (BeInPM) Masters Programme 2020 for students who have completed a Bachelor degree or equivalent degree (240 ECTS).
Threats related to malnutrition, pollution, globalization, the uncontrolled spread of diseases, will impact the social fabric of the world with implications for health. Facing these threats, maintaining high health standards, require flawless prevention, better diagnosis and targeted therapy treatment, all with a controlled budget. The latter three pillars required for performant healthcare imply global scientific approaches by mastering key scientific disciplines: bioengineering, medical biotechnology and clinical research, and offering prevention and disease treatment that take into account the patient specificity.
Patient specificity, you said? Let’s say PRECISION MEDICINE! Precision Medicine (PM), which refers to treatment strategies that takes into account the patient specificity and variability in terms of people’s genes, their environment and lifestyles, by providing the right patient with the right treatment. The purpose of the BeInPM programme is to address the issue of precision medicine in the context of fast changes in healthcare systems and the merging of novel approaches. It provides a broad multidisciplinary training in the emerging field of Precision Medicine (PM).
The programme offers you the opportunity to gain the skills will make you an expert in this new field, with a broad technical management mindset regarding the implementation and management of Precision Medicine.
Worth of Award

- An average of 22 students per year will earn a one-year scholarship paid on a monthly basis (€1,000 /month for 12 months).
- Beneficiaries of the EU scholarship will be awarded a contribution to travel costs (for all beneficiaries) and installation costs (only for partner countries residents) at the beginning of the BeInPM EMJMD programme. Said contributions are paid upon arrival at Archamps, where the BeInPM programme begins.
- Contribution to travel costs (for all beneficiaries): €1,000
- Contribution to installation costs (only for students residing in a partner country), depending on the distance from the student’s home to the University of Grenoble Alpes.
- If less than 4,000 kilometres: €3,000
- If more than 4,000 kilometres: €4,000
Eligibility
- Applications are open to well-trained students from all around the world who have completed a Bachelor degree or equivalent degree (240 ECTS), in a relevant field, such as clinical sciences, biotechnology, bioengineering, biomedical engineering, pharmacy, medicine, biology, chemical biology, biophysics, health management, computer sciences, life sciences. 240 ECTS credits, even if the student comes from an educational system without ECTS credits, corresponding to 4-years of higher education.
- Language requirements:
- Excellent proficiency in English is required. As the classes are taught in English,
- candidates must meet the required standards.
- Applicants who do not meet the following criteria are advised to provide an English test or certificate (optional):
- Native English speakers,
- Applicants who have not completed at least 2 years of an English-speaking academic programme, in higher education.

- Motivation letter
- Sworn declaration about the country of residency during the last 5 years
- Two recommendation letters from professors or heads of University
- Language test, no older than 2 years (optional):
- IELTS: score of 5.5 or above,
- TOEFL: score of 72 or above,
- PTE Academic: score of 51 or above,
- Integrated Skills in English (ISE), level II or above: pass in both modules (Reading & Writing, Speaking & Listening);
- “Cambridge English: Advanced” (also known as the Certificate in Advanced English/CAE, or Cambridge ESOL): score of 160/210 or above.
